[not wanting to get anywhere close to the corpse is such a big mood.]

Varian? [she sounds like she's minutes away from passing the heck out, but she does seem genuinely glad to see him.] I'm— Yeah. I'm okay. I'm great.

[better than gi-gan, anyway. yikes.]

How about you? You're not hurt or anything, right?

That's... definitely most of us.

[except for, you know, the corpse. :( poor gi-gan.]

I can't believe this is really happening.

I know. The roll said someone would die once a week, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. I thought we would have more time.

[To figure out what they would do, if nothing else. In a more optimistic scenario, maybe find a way to avoid this.

Looks like that ship has sailed, though.]

Bloodthirsty enough to jump at the first chance they got, apparently. How big of an asshole do you have to be to murder an old lady?

[... Nevermind that the old lady also happened to be a badass, but. Her point still stands.]

No kidding. They couldn't even let her keep her dignity as a corpse.

This is so, so messed up. How the hell is one day going to be enough?

Yeah, those odds are in no way unfair or detrimental to our progress. I'm sure this will turn out really well.

[full on deadpan.

she's tired.]

I don't want to think about that right now. It's bad enough that one innocent person is dead, as it is.
